EMMIS NAMES DAVID LEBOW SENIOR VP OPERATIONS – RADIO

Indianapolis – Emmis Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: EMMS) today announced the promotion of David Lebow to Senior Vice President of Operations – Radio Division, working with all Emmis radio markets.

“David has a long, rich history with this company, but also offers a perspective from outside Emmis which is helpful to have,” Rick Cummings, President of Emmis Radio, said. “While he returned to Emmis as a regional VP, he’s really been doing the job in all Emmis markets since I took over as President.”

“He is a strong strategist who fully understands and fits the Emmis culture. David has already brought great value to our radio stations in revenue systems, sales structure and overall planning.”

Lebow, 39, has served as Regional Vice President for Emmis Radio since May 2001. Prior to rejoining Emmis, he served as Executive Vice President/Western Region for AMFM (now Clear Channel), overseeing the large-market operations for that company’s markets, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Denver, Phoenix and Minneapolis. Prior to that, he was Chief Operating Officer for the AMFM Office for Product and Strategy, overseeing the programming and strategic aspects of AMFM.

Lebow worked for Emmis in various management capacities – including sales manager at KPWR in Los Angeles and director of research and market development for the company – from 1986-92. He has held various positions with the Arbitron Company, GAF Broadcasting and Chase Broadcasting.

“We’re all a team at Emmis. Everyone on the team is working hard so we can continue to be an industry leader,” Lebow said. “We’re committed to our innovative approach to sales, programming, and financial management.”
