Indianapolis…Emmis Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: EMMS) today announced that Lance Richard has been named General Sales Manager of WKQX-FM (Q101) in Chicago. Richard replaces Matt White, who has been GSM of Q101 since 1999 and is retiring later this year due to the effects of ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Chuck DuCoty, Vice President/General Manager of Q101, said that Richard brings a wealth of talent, knowledge and experience to the position. “Matt has been instrumental in building and leading one of Chicago’s top radio sales teams and Lance is the right person to carry us forward.”
Richard spent the last two years as Executive Vice President for Sales and Strategic Marketing for IP2M Inc., an online publisher of consumer-focused health content, distributed through a network of more than 950 television and radio station websites. From March 1997 to September 2000, he served as GSM for Clear Channel in Houston, a cluster of eight radio properties. Prior to that, he spent 10 years in Atlanta, working in various sales and management positions with radio station WFOX-FM. He is a 1984 graduate of Auburn University.
Richard begins his new position immediately, with White staying on through the transition.
