Indianapolis…Emmis Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: EMMS) today announced that Kimerly Montour has been hired to serve in the newly created position of Vice President – News for Emmis Television.
Montour most recently operated Montour Communications, a media project and consulting business that for the last six months had been consulting with Emmis Television. Her previous experience includes serving as Executive Vice President for television and Internet production company CNX Media, and as Director of Programming for NBC Europe and CNBC Europe. She also spent nearly a decade with Fox Television, holding a number of news and programming positions.
“I am truly delighted to have someone with Kim’s experience and expertise joining us,” said Randall Bongarten, President of Emmis Television. “As we have made news a key strategic focus for us, Kim is really going to be a significant contributor to our efforts.”
Montour will assume her new position with Emmis immediately. “In working with Emmis as a consultant for the last six months, I have learned firsthand how committed this company is to news, how committed it is to its employees, and how committed it is to its viewers,” said Montour. “This is a company that has the integrity to do what we need to do for our communities.”
