EMMIS NAMES JOE COOK VP/GENERAL MANAGER OF WVUE-TV NEW ORLEANS; MADELYN BONNOT NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, EMMIS TELEVISION

EMMIS Communications today named Joe Cook as Vice President/General Manager of New Orleans’ WVUE-TV, Fox 8.

“We are delighted to have a broadcast veteran like Joe Cook back in the EMMIS family,” Randy Bongarten, President of EMMIS Television, said. “Joe has shown great capability in the past as a thoughtful, skillful manager and we look forward to his leadership of WVUE.”

Madelyn Bonnot, who has served as Vice President of Operations for EMMIS Television/General Manager of WVUE TV since 1997, will assume the position of Vice President, EMMIS Television. Bonnot will work on special projects as well as continuing to serve as the EMMIS representative on the NAB, NATPE and Fox boards of governors.

Cook has more than 25 years of broadcasting experience, including nine years in sales. He served as Station Manager (1985) and General Manager (1986-2000) of EMMIS-owned WALA-TV in Mobile, Alabama, until his (premature) retirement on July 31, 2000.

Cook begins his new duties on Monday, October 1.
