Some of the company’s executives, including Jeff Smulyan, Chairman and CEO, and Walter Berger, Executive Vice President and CFO, are in New York City on business. They are in constant contact with the company, and they are safe.
Like many downtown Indianapolis businesses, EMMIS has employed heightened security measures. In addition, our Indianapolis employees were invited to go home to be with their families.
EMMIS owns three radio stations in New York City – WQCD-FM, WQHT-FM and WRKS-FM. Our stations’ operations were not impacted by the attack, and they are still on the air.
Our family of Indianapolis stations, WENS-FM, WYXB-FM, and WNOU-FM have been simulcasting WIBC-AM (1070) Indy’s news leader, all morning.
Our thoughts and prayers are with today’s victims and their families.
