Indianapolis – Mike McKinnon, EMMIS Communications’ Vice President of Television Engineering, has been named Vice President of Engineering for all EMMIS entities.
McKinnon has been with EMMIS since February 1999. He has held engineering design and support positions with Tribune Broadcasting, Renaissance Communications, WXIN-TV (Indianapolis), WTHR-TV (Indianapolis), and Bell Telephone Laboratories.
In announcing the move, EMMIS Chairman and CEO Jeff Smulyan noted McKinnon’s extensive background and the quality of his work in the last 18 months. “EMMIS’ recent growth in the number of properties we own requires a more comprehensive view of our engineering functions,” Smulyan said. “Mike has done an outstanding job with EMMIS Television, and I am confident his success will continue as he begins to oversee our radio operations.”
