Indianapolis…Emmis Publishing LP, a subsidiary of Emmis Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: EMMS), has announced the appointment of Christopher Schulz as President and Publisher of Orange Coast magazine, Orange County’s largest lifestyle magazine.

Linda Goldstein, who has served as Publisher at Orange Coast since 2007, will remain an integral part of the publication with the title of Publisher Emeritus. Ms. Goldstein began her career at Orange Coast in 1980, becoming Vice President of Sales in 1995 before assuming the duties of Publisher. Her decision to step down was based on her desire to pare back her work schedule. Goldstein will remain at Orange Coast managing a base of principle accounts and overseeing several Orange Coast events including the OC Look, the magazine’s annual signature event.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the Orange Coast/Emmis Publishing team,” said Greg Loewen, President of Emmis Publishing. “With Chris and Linda joining forces, we are positioned to further strengthen our position as the leading lifestyle media brand in Orange County.”

Schulz begins his new role April 1st.  Most recently, Schulz served as Group Publisher for Firebrand Media LLC, with responsibility for a portfolio of regional lifestyle and luxury hotel magazines (including Montage Hotels; St. Regis Hotels; and Preferred Hotel Group). Previously, he served as President of Gulfshore Media/Curtco, Southwest Florida’s largest regional magazine publisher. From 2000-2008, Mr. Schulz was C.O.O. for Freedom Communications’ Specialty Media division, overseeing a variety of print and digital media for the southern California market, including Coast magazine; décor & design titles; and a custom publishing arm. Mr. Schulz began his career in the travel publishing field.

“Emmis has an unparalleled commitment to city and regional publishing, and I am pleased to join this dynamic company,” said Schulz. “Orange Coast is the oldest and largest magazine in the Orange County, California market, and we look forward to expanding its presence and providing additional products and services for the community, including a custom publishing initiative.”
