Indianapolis – David Lippoff has been named Vice President & General Manager for Emmis Communications CorporationÌs KOIN-TV (CBS) in Portland, Oregon.

Most recently Vice President & General Manager of Cox Television’s WFTV (ABC) and WRDQ (independent) in Orlando, Lippoff began his career in Portland as a Reporter & Anchor at KPTV (1970-73) and as a Reporter, Producer, Executive News Producer and Assistant News Director at KGW-TV (1974-81). He is also a University of Oregon graduate (B.S., Journalism, 1971).

“David will bring to our Portland operation a wealth of expertise and record of success in all aspects of television management,” Randall Bongarten, President of Emmis Television, said. “And his previous experience in the Portland market is a big plus.”

Lippoff, 53, served as Executive News Producer, Assistant News Director, and News Director at Detroit’s WJBK (CBS) from 1981-83; Executive News Producer of KPIX (CBS) in San Francisco from 1983-86; as News Director of Atlanta’s WSB (ABC) from 1986-91; and as Vice President & General Manager of WHIO (CBS) in Dayton Ohio from 1991-96, before assuming the top job in Orlando in 1996.
