The Loop's annual summer concert event "Loopfest" is Chicago's premier one day rock festival. Loop listeners have enjoyed great performances from ZZ Top, STYX, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Heart, Ted Nugent, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Def Leppard, Sammy Hagar and more.
On top of great rock and huge events, The Loop's intense commitment to the community has resulted in a coveted Crystal Award recognizing radio stations with outstanding service to their local community. Over the past 9 years the "Jon-A-Thon" benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation, a 26-hour radiothon with Jonathon Brandmeier, raises money for area children with life threatening conditions and has grown from $30,000 in donations to nearly $300,000 in 2006. |
