• Internships Overview.
• PRODUCTION/PROGRAMMING - Students will learn the dub and digital editing process of commercials. Students may also be asked to produce commercials. Assist on-air talents with board operation, taking phone requests and general administrative support.

• TRAFFIC - Assist the department with entering sales orders, filing, printing reports and contracts and general administrative support.

• PROMOTIONS - Students will assist in the creation and coordination of marketing and promotional activities. Must be creative, organized and be detail oriented. Must be able to work with others in a fast-paced environment. Must be a problem solver, dependable, hard working and creative. Hours include evenings and weekends. Interns must maintain flexible availability. Students must have a valid Indiana driver's license and insurance. This position reports directly to the Promotion Director and is a part-time position for College credit (if applicable). The internship requires approximately 5–15 hours per week:, depending on event schedule.

• SALES - Students would primarily learn phone etiquette, presentation skills, writing and production of radio commercials, qualitative as well as the quantitative computer software that applies to media sales. Students will also learn how to and the importance of interaction between advertisers and the radio station. Some light filing and typing will also be required.

• NEWS - WIBC newsroom and WIBC.com have internships available. These positions both require a writing background, Journalism Majors preferred. These positions involve gathering and writing news stories for the radio station and content generation for the station website. Writing samples must be submitted with your application and resume.

• INTERACTIVE - Work with Interactive Content Producer and Interactive Manager to post content on three websites: www.radionow931.com; www.wens.com; www.b1057.com . Research lifestyle content information via the Internet, magazines, and newspapers. Help maintain station databases. Select and contact winners of online promotions. Help send out online mass emailings. Assist Interactive Department staff with any and all assignments.

The Intern is required to have a working knowledge of how to surf the Internet; Excel, Access, Dreamweaver, and Word software programs. Be familiar with, or a fan of, RadioNow 93.1, WENS and/or B105.7. Willingness to learn, and real interest in the Internet and web design.
• CORPORATE FINANCE INTERNSHIP - Students are assigned projects that will allow them to become familiar with a variety of departments and its role in the company. Interns are asked to complete a 12-week program or one semester program; choices include summer, fall and spring semesters. The student is responsible for obtaining the necessary paperwork from their college or university to ensure that they receive their credit hours. (This includes evaluation forms and other documents needing to be signed by the Emmis Communications).

MINIMUM ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
* 2.0 grade point average
* ONE LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION AND A COPY OF YOUR RESUME
* Letter should be from a university instructor, department chair, counselor or professor
